The Main Titles are introduced within the opening sequence of archive video material, showing the actual process of IVF seen through the microscope. The titles are subtly bedded in to the footage, reacting to the twitches and focussing of the camera, as if suspended within the fluid of the Petri dish. The type design echoes society’s faith in modernity, at that period in time.

The end coda sequence was paired with additional archive material to show the individuals played in the film, with special focus on Jean Purdy, and the fight for her to be recognised as an equal in the scientific breakthrough.
