This ambitious and deeply moving film follows László Tóth (Adrien Brody), a Hungarian-Jewish architect and Holocaust survivor, as he rebuilds his life in post-war America. Trained at the Bauhaus and once celebrated in Europe, Tóth arrives in Philadelphia with nothing but his talent and resilience. Struggling with displacement, addiction, and prejudice, he finds his moment of artistic triumph when commissioned by industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren (Guy Pearce) to design “The Institute,” a monumental community centre.

But The Brutalist is so much more than a story about architecture, it’s a profound exploration of ambition, trauma, survival, and the human spirit.

Premiering at the Venice Film Festival, The Brutalist received a 17-minute standing ovation and won the prestigious Silver Lion. It continued to captivate audiences at its North American premiere at TIFF, gaining critical acclaim ahead of its general release.

Today, The Brutalist finally hits cinemas! And we are incredibly proud to have invested in this extraordinary project, contributed to its VFX, and mixed it in our newly acquired Theatre X. Being part of such a powerful and ambitious film has been an honour, and we’re thrilled to see its well-deserved recognition.
